British Columbia has the highest ownership costs as a % of household income in Canada. Just to own a home, it requires 70-80% of ones annual revenue to purchase either a bungalow or a two-storey. This isn't true for Atlantic Canada and Alberta where the average is between 40-50% and Ontario is slightly higher between the 50-60%.
